If so does it have. A pierburg carb on it?

Wondering if mine has been modified at some point.

Anyone got a picture of a DH engine i could compare mine to.

mines a DH, fuel injected. if its got a carb then the FI system must have been removed.

i dont have a photo, but i can try and get one. ive found i get a lot more engine related info and help from thesamba.com, since they have a lot more FI engine'd busses than here it seems ( mostly 2.1 MV and DJ's ). i guess the airflow and coolant sensors are still DH native though on yours? do you still have the ECU behind the left hand rear light cluster hooked up?

Don't have any of that - inside it has pretty much a dg engine in terms of components(carb ignition manifold etc) but a DH engine block!

Wonder if thats why i'm getting intermitent stalling at junctions and loss of power, maybee the pierburg 2e3 was never designed for this engine.

i dont know anything about the DG carbueretter setup, but i know the DH temp sender is different and is a screw in type. Not the guage sender- the one just to the left of that one, which with the FI setup goes to the ECU for engine temp signal.

this is the one im talking about-

this is also correct for DH engine, but not on the DG. what does yours look like? dont know if that could be part of your problem?

This is a picture of the engine...
not sure where the temp sensor is...

you should be checking this brake servo hose for air leaks (enclosed in red)
common problem that the rubber pipe under the braiding has perished and leaks air

i did replace all the vac pipes out of the carb and checked the choke pulldown and secondry throttle vac unit which all seemed fine

i sprayed carb cleaner round that hose and all round the joining plate of carb to manifold as well as the manifold to engine.

will take this hose of at weekend and double make sure its ok.

Barely makes any difference what engine code is.. DH is only designated that coz it had Fi fitted.. essentially its a DG spec engine in any case..

the block has nowt to do with cutting out at junctions.. could be all manner of things as suggested, more often than not its a poorly set up carb or crud blocking the jets or just in need of a jolly service and set up..

As said, air leaks can cause all sorts of poor running conditions.. vac advance on the dizzy faulty, poorly adjusted timing.. etc etc..

As thats an early DG cooling set up, the temp sensor wont be responsible as all it does.. is the temp gauge..

Cheers guys, wasnt aware the block was the same on all these engines and the code identified the setup etc.

So essentially i have a dg and timing should be as per dg!?

What distributer should i get if i wanted to replace it?

Treat it as a DG.. so a DG dizzy.. IF you really need to.. (whats fitted a the mo?) No need to change the whole dizzy if the vac unit is faulty, just replace that

The cases are essentially the same, 2 types, early and late... no need to go into the details of that, it isnt important unless you are going inside the case

IIRC DH has the same timing as a DG anyway, so set it up as per DG, vac dissconnected (and blanked) 5-8 deg BTDC....
