sink waste pipe

Two questions this time I'm afraid.
I bought some sink convoluted waste pipe. Now I'm about to fit it this weekend. On hindsight should I have bought smooth pipe or can you tell me food won't get lodged in the convolution type?
Secondly, when I drill the hole through the floor, do I just seal it with rustoleum then underseal/silicone sealer?
Thanks

I think that spiral pipe should be banned - you are right fat/food gets stuck in it. I use smooth bore bilge pump pipe - no probs.

Treat all the cut metal. Ideally use a rubber grommet so the the metal edges don't cut through the pipe - if not use anything that will prevent it - sikaflex/soudaflex/silicone if you have to but I am not a great fan of silicone sealants. You are unlikely to get water through it unless you go wading a la Syncro boys.
