cant offer great advice i'm afraid but i am in the process of doing the same thing. It is possible but a few extra bits are needed. support plates for the rear hinges are the main mod i think. There are a few places that fit them. The main concern for me is getting hold of some plans to make sure i make holes in the right places! I'll let you know if i get hold of some

If you're going down the route of keeping your current roof, as opposed to grafting the westy flat roof on, as mentioned on the other thread, I've got some photos of our roof when our westy pop top was removed.

I've got pics of where the rear bracket mounts to and of the bracket itself, unfortunately there is no measurements on them, but what I can do is draw a pattern from our roof next time I visit her in hospital, sorry garage if this helps at all.

Can you not get them from the person you are getting the roof from?

I can't really see the point of cutting a hole in your roof unless you can use the roof space for sleeping.

The roof was taken off a long time ago so the van is no more... dont understand what you mean re space?

The roof in a westy it cut to the rear of van. Which means the bed is flat and sits lower. If it is done like in the picture you will have to build a bed on top of the curved roof and there will be very little room at that end.

mozzer if you PM your address I'll pop a template in the post to you, same goes for you samk

I'll also take some pics of the side profile of my roof, so you can compare a westy roof with yours, it's ideal at the moment because it is temporarily roofless, we took it off especially for the pics - no, of course we didn't.

Our catch plate thing was sold with our roof, but I have this -

no idea why, it just seemed useful to take a picture a few years ago - as it's proved now. I can include the holes and position on the template that I'm going to do. Our bus was in the air today so it proved a bit tricky to do, it was a very high top just about touching the ceiling.
