merc 16"came off 190e,these have a 39 et,what spacers /studs will i need for clearance of bodywork and suspension when i fit 205 65 16 tyres, the thickness of alloys at the stud hole is 20mm
as the rear arches on a gipsy allow bigger spacers ,will going wider than 10mm spacers at the back cause problems
cheers chaps

If you look at the Wiki theres loads of info on there.
I think at ET39 they should be fine, definately convert to studs at the front - then you can get nice matching wheel nuts all round

You'll need longer studs all round but no spacers required as said..

when i tried them, they do need the studs like you said, will need spacers though as wont be able to get centre caps on,put a pair of 205's on to try

But if you space them your Et will be all wrong, ET is more important for balance and handling that weather the hub caps will fit

if i add 10mm spacers the ET will go down from 39 to 29,is this ok .
ordered kit any way as the bolts/studs need to be longer, asked for extra lengh rear studs 75mm overall length to allow for alloy thickness 20mm,spacer 10mm,and enough for the nut
the front ones ,conversion studs extra long too ,will be cut down to suit

ET29 is probably ok - factory alloys were ET30. Good luck with it all

tried one front alloy(first one cleaned up)stud conversion on 10mm spacer ...damn its close.... ground a tiny bit off link arm to get 2mm clearance ,may need bigger spacer, wheels would not have fitted without spacer

You're trimming the structure of the suspension components to make alloy wheels fit ?! My God, Darwin was right.

I suggest you check the Construction & Use Regulations, because I suspect that 2 mm would be regarded as insufficient clearance.

These tyre sizes will alter both your engine gearing and speedometer calibration, relative to 185/80 R14 tyres.
