Hi,
The horn on mine hadn't been working for a while, even though the wires all seemed right. Then a few days back it started working, but if I held it on for a second or two the temp warning light switches on, any ideas? Is there a common link.
I also need to find out the fuse position for the dash lights if anyone has a diagram.

PS: I am due to change the windscreen seal as I have the puddle of water in the passenger footwell thing happening. It doesn't appear that any water is going near the fuses, but has anyone had any experience of this messing with the wiring?

With the water ingress, it could be that the earth crowns have become corroded. Have a look for them "next to and behind" the fusebox - if that makes any sense. It's a common thing and can cause all sorts of weird electrical strangeness. Take the wires off and give everything a good clean up to ensure you're getting good connections.

It might be something different of course, but this is a good place to start

if you've got the later blade type fusebox, then the dash lights fuse is one which sits horizontal above the others and is 10 amps. Not sure about earlier types.

As well as checking the earth crowns, which is a good bet, I'd check the integrity of the earth wire and connection to the bottom of the steering column which I think ultimately earths the horn through the horn switch on the steering wheel. Then there's always the 14-pin multiconnector to clean up if it's the temp warning light, and module 43 etc...

Thanks for the help, the fuse box is the earlier type (she's an 85). When the rain stops I will check the earth crowns and horn earth.
