French hook up connections, different?

Hi All,

Due to the bargain ferry discount code,(thanks very much) have booked to go to France camping.

But thinking about it will my existing orange electric hook up cable plug into their system, or wil I need an adpater of sorts?
Also are their electric points very far away from the pitches?, have read somewhere the french carry huge amounts of cable on reels?

Hope I can make it.

Many thanks, Mark.

The French use a round plug with two pins or the standard blue (euro) connector.
Some of the really old sites need a two pin plug that has a hole in it to accept a pin from the socket - I haven't seen this type for a while now.

I have the round two pin connector with a converter/adaptor to the euro blue type.

Some of the cheaper sites, Aires and Camping Municipal have the olde stylee hook-ups. When you buy an adaptor make sure you get a polarity tester as well, they often come with them.
