Hello,
The squared off end of the speedo cable coming out of the hub is secured by a little circlip.
Undo this and try to push the cable in, it should resist and remain sticking out about 8mm.
The hub is a simple knock on/off fitting.
A mallet and a bit of courage.
Light oil on the cable is good
Pull the old one out and replace with new in the same way, making sure they are the same length/model
Make sure that the cable has entered the back of the speedo before putting the hub back.
Depending on the model the speedo is easy to get at , undo instrument pod, and you will see it.
To get at the knurled nut, it is useful to open the drivers door and work through that space.
If the cable sticks out too far, then it is not properly seated in the speedo housing.
Happy contortions
Cordialement,

I use a claw hammer and brace it against a wheel nut, gently push in 3 or 4 places and off it comes.
