I just want to say a big thanks to Al, Russel, Clive, Pete & Sharon, LHD Rob and Jake for helping me out this last few days.

A new crack free head, cylinder head gasket, new bolts, copper manifold nuts, cam belt & tensioner, fan belt, air filter, darlek cap, new coolant and oil are all fitted and should keep me out of trouble for a few more thousand miles. Also another thing I can now do on my ever increasing basic mechanical knowledge and actual experience of fixing the VW Syncro. (Weird how I am actually enjoying it )

The Westy now lives again and is ready for action

Just make sure to do the hg's before you fit it. Much easier job on the SOHC than the DOHC.
