hi there all,
i have started looking at flip down tv's on fleabay and there seams to be some i think called savos at around the £300 mark and then another couple of 15" flip downs at around the £160 mark .has anyone bought any of thease types and what are your experiences of them ? or any tv's in the van and ariels reception ect....
would appreciate your feedback thanks in advance

TV's that come with "adapters" are 12v.
try to get one with freeview or a DVD as combo

Use an under cupboard TV bracket to fix them to the roof unless one is supplied with the TV. These will flip down and are articulate enough to gain a good viewing angle.

All these TV's are able to have a universal Standard Fixing bracket on the back by law... so don't worry about them fitting each other

I too was looking at those flip down tv's when I started my hunt for a Van Tv. The first one I put in the van was a 7" that was mounted on the drivers seat head rest. Works really well, but you've got to be very close to it to see the screen. Recently I purchased a 13" 12v and 110v lcd flat screen as well as a Full Motion mount. I mounted the tv on the drivers' side "C" pillar. With the full motion of the Tv, you can watch it while in bed, sitting on the rear bench or sitting in the front seats. Gave it a test drive this past weekend. Hooked up my archos to it and watched a movie, picture and sound worked great. Hope the info helps?!

thanks for your replys its good to see what over people have gone for ,what sort of ariel are you using ?i was looking at the tv /dvd combo one that is in one unit and drops down in between the front seats 15" i think ,has anyone any expeirience of thease enyou dtv1540 they are on ebay at the moment .

Hi we have just bought an avtex combi tv and avtex ariel which when it is pluged into the tv it will boost the siginal and comes with a stand and a sucker so you can stick it to your window.The tv are quite expensive but are meant to be one of the best 12v tvs or so i have heard,they also run off the mains.

Hi I have a flip down tv DVB-T DVD player but it's only 9" one from hong kong and I had to repair it before I even used it as it was going to cost £50 to send back and only cost £120 to buy it's a great bit of kit even has wireless headphones for when little on watching DVD

Like keV said make sure got free view as the switch over is coming to a town near you soon

WHY do you need a TV? I thought the idea was to get away from the trappings of normal life. It will be a caravan next!

We all enjoy these great vans in our own way chris..
I know of folks with big families that tow a caravans with a t25 .. saves on flimsy awnings for the winter I supose.

Actually Shifnal is quicker to get to than Bridgnorth as I live in Oxley Wolverhampton.
So a meet up would be cool with me pal, any time.

Just as a word of warning I bought a MEOS 15" TV off ebay from DiddyDigital which I'm sure is the other trading name they use

It packed up at the 11 month mark and I had to send it to Germany, at my expense, to have it repaired and it came back just before we went to NZ

First time I used it, other than testing it when it had been repaired, it packed up again with the same fault and they weren't interested and quoted £60 to have a look at it but wouldn't promise anything

Look at the customer feedback for DiddyGigital and you'll see what I mean
