Hi

I'm after a bit of advice on two topics.

1. Installing an alarm - I've come across a Toad-AI606T2 alarm, supplied and fitted by www.secureacar.co.uk for £255. Is this a good alarm, does it sound a reasonable price?

2. We want to extend the camping season by having a heater. Don't know where to start on this one. Any advice?

If you mean a heater for when you're NOT hooked up to mains electricicty then either an Eber (diesel) or a Propex (gas) are the norm (blown air heating systems). Look in the club Wiki, more info in there I'd have thought.

Thanks 1664... yes primarily whilst off hook up.. so I'll have a look at club wiki now. I've heard that the propex versions are fairly expensive to buy - do you know of one which is good value for money, and are they a big job to fit (i.e. need a mechanic to do it?)?

We do have a hook up aswell - is there a different option for hook-up?

Neither option is 'cheap'. You can get second hand but you might be killed in the rush!! Don't know about Eber's but Propex are fairly straight forward BUT apparently you should get the gas supply aspect checked by an expert: why the same doesn't apply to diesel I don't know - possibly because CORGI/Gas-Safe stuff applies to domestic properties people automatically apply it to campers too

As for hook up, it's up to you. I have a fan heater (instant but noisy); others prefer oil filled radiators or small panel heaters (slow but silent). There are other options.........

I had mt Propex fitted professionally, cost £125 - well worth it for the peace of mind.
