rear platform for engine bay

Hi Guys, I have just finished assembly and basic instalation of the full width r&r bed. It is the JK wooden one (yes Covkid it is too heavy ) but it was cheap (I'm Scottish) and will do meantime. My question is about the rear boxed platform to support the bed. I don't see any plans in the wiki but does the wood have to be bolted to the engine bay or would sikaflex/no more nails be ok? Any info would be greatly appreciated

I fixed mine with several 90deg brackets, two screws in to the wood of the box and to bolts through the body work into engine bay.
You could get away with self tappers.
Before you drill through the body just make sure that there are no pipes, cable, etc. on the other side.

Thanks Titus. Had a look today and and seems fairly straightforward. will buy brackets and wood tomorrow.

How high does it need to be? The one in my leisuredrive just pushes in and pulls out. No bolting/screws required

You could easily make a lightweight pull out box section for that. No need for drilling/fixing/bonding.

good idea Cruz. Still trying to get the basics right with the bed before building the storage platform. Lots to think about now.
