either. assuming all electrical connections are OK, you'd be more qualified to check that! remove the starter motor (disconect batrery etc first) fire over direct ly to a battery to see if it spins like an electric motor. if all good, bush needs removing

works fine most of time so sounds like the bush! tried to get in to wiki but can't remember the login name! cheers bob!

sounds like a sticky solonoid to me next time it happens try shorting the two large teminals on the solonoid if the motor spins up then your your solonoid is on the way out but check voltage from ignition is good (small spade connector)just in case fault lies there.
