The body strengthening were available as a separate option, the 16" wheel package always came with the strengthening's.

16" came with 205/16 tyres and I dont think they would fit under the front behind the bumper.

Approximate translation
This car is a 14" which has had the reinforcements added (welded) to it. Got two photos showing the modifications. Reinforcements are not as extreme as Found in a 16"syncro. Has 16" rims on now and has never been thrashed by farmers and hunters or the previous owners, only by me.

The lovely paint scheme gives it away ...this is an ex-army Syncro (like mine)
Most, if not all of those came with the "Schlechtwegepaket". This usually consisted of:
- The strenghtening of the B-pillar (but not the rear quarter as in the 16")
- strengthened front shock mounts
- the CV joint protectors in the front
- a protective tube for the gear shift mechanism underneath
All of that ex works

interesting to see rear shock mount lower on rear swing arm compared to the 14.
