Hi

Has anyone got either a 1.6D (non turbo) exhaust manifold or a turbocharger for a 1.6TD, i am still unsure about the quickest way to get my 1984 T25 back on the road, i.e. replace the knackered turbocharger or go back to a non turbo engine.

any help appreciated

regards

Chappers,

If you go down the non-turbo route you will need a new exhaust downpipe and air intake pipes. The engine will have even less power than a 'proper' non-turbo as the injection pump will be set up to fuel for the extra 'umph' the turbo gives and I think the turbo has slightly lower compression to compensate for the turbo. Oh, and to will need the inlet manifold and you will need to block the turbo oil pipes.

I think you will be mighty disappointed in the performance!!

I think that you would spend more going non-turbo to go more and increadibly frustrated, than you would getting your turbo re-con'd and an oil change.

I am sure someone more knowledgeable will let you know I I have missed the point or if I have got something wrong.

Hope that you are back on the road soon matey.

That should be the Turbo-Engine has lower compression!
