Powder coating (Eastwood set up) vs paint
Posted: 10 Jan 2011, 00:29
Hi,
I have been debating for a while whether to get one of the electrostatic Eastwood powder coating units for finishing off suspension parts, small panels/brackets etc, partly for the van but also for other resto projects I have on the go.
Just wondered if anyone had used the unit and how the powder coating compares for longevity against the two prime alternatives (Rustoleum or Chassis Black)?
Seems like ther are 3 options ( bound to be more but i like to keep things simple )
1. Clean and powder coat
2. Clean and rustoleum
3. Clean, dinitrol then chassis black.
If i could set up a voting post I would but as I can't see this option on the forum i thought I would post this and see what peoples replies come in at.
So, must be more experts on rust treatment on here than most forums so let rip
Cheers,
