Hi, thought I might try and change the oil for first time, but for the life of me, can't find the sump plug. I have been under the van,(and yes I did look in the rear end

taken off the engine cover on the underside (god!! that's another story!!) Have tried to move further up underneath the van but am a bit limited without ramps. Can any one confirm that the plug is indeed in the engine (underside) cover before I take it off again.
Further confession, I couldn't see the oil filter aswell
Bought this van, with the full intention of learning the basic stuff, but with a lack of manuals available, I am a bit stumped
Cheers

Not really looked too closely at one with a cover on but the plug should be at the back of the sump in about the centre of the bottom edge. I was privy to some discussion of other configurations (for syncros I think) with more than one plug or the plug at the front of the sump. Back and front meaning toward the back or front of the van. Good luck.

the sump plug is a 13mm bolt on the very front lower edge of the sump (lowest part of the engine the gray coloured bit ). the oil filter is easiest to see from above under the engine cover in the back of the van it is next to the right hand engine mounting on the right side of the engine half way along the engine probably black in colour and about the size of a tin of beans hope this helps

FRom painfull experience...................
If you don't have anywhere dirty/oily to do an oil change, then its a good idea to take off the engine cover (yes its a pain in the ass and a fiddly pig) before you do an oil change cos if not then you'll get a sieve effect all over the driveway

cough.........
