there`s a fair bit of ladder comparison on you tube. i`m going to be buying some soon and would appreciate any advise.

Im not going to buy any as we dont have deserts in Ireland and I live in a bungalow

I do lots of sand driving here in oz but I just use plywood boards which work fine and store easy. Not as good as the high grip sand ladders BUT they will get you out in the same situation. I would imagine that if I can get by with ply boards you would do fine buying any of the many variations of sand ladders provided they are of a solid construction. Maxtrax are another one you might want to check out though. They are all the rave for beach drivers down under. http://www.maxtrax.com.au/
Just curious. Do you have a particular set up for sand driving? Solid shaft, big tires etc?
