Just refitted the engine on a 1.9 watercooled petrol not sure where the wire goes for the oil pressure warning switch on the side of the crank case. If anybody can let me know I would be very grateful.
There seems to be 2 loose wires beneath the thermostat housing but not sure if these are the right ones.

the low pressure switch is between No 3 and 4 behind the shielding.
one wire and it's brown
The high pressure switch is under the water pump next to the oil pump
one wire and it's brown
what colour are the two wires you found?

There are two switches on your thermostat
the yellow /red trace and brown are your temp gauge wires
the black / green trace and brown are your coolant shortage/manifold heater switch wires
the yellow wire is to your 0.9 bar oil switch (high pressure) turns to brown at the two pin connector
the black/blue wire is to your 0.3 bar oil switch (low pressure) turns to brown at the two pin connector

Thanks very much for your help I've given up to it for today as it is starting to go dark outside and I have been laid under it all day but 1st thing in the morning I'll wire it up and I am sure it will be fine then.
Thanks once again
