hi all
i have a 1990 twin slider t25 with a full width r n r bed and it's a walk thru.

Hi Peter. We have the same set up as you. The most obvious solution, assuming its a tin top, is to have a unit (or units) accross the rear of the front seats. The nice bit is chosing how to do this. Kitchen units like the Ikea FaKtum range fit accross and give plenty of storage space. There is the option of cutting in the cooker on to a top surface/worktop of some kind with the gas cylinder held within the unit.

We where originally going to get a full side fit out (and swap the bed for a 2/3 size) but quickly realised that it didnt make any sense (although they do look good) and the full width bed is an absolute treat. We were then thinking about a fixed unit accross the rear of the front seats. In the end went for these two units(link below)which fix perfectly next to each other and are much lighter. They look great too (pic attached - hopefully!. The main unit has storage space underneath and we have two trays, again from ikea, which fit beneath perfectly. We didnt want a gas cooker fitted as it restricts where you can cook. We use cassette gas cookers which gives good heat and complete flexibility. We cook inside on top of the units for quick stuff like fry ups or just take them outside and use a fold up unit when we can. Weve got electric sockets fitted into the van inner side walls (small zig on rear inner panel). The red units are an ideal depth and height so you can perch easily on the end of the bed or the retracted seat and do your cooking. The smaller drawer unit is really handy for the inevitable bits and stuff.

Rather than an awning we've got a full height Quechua base seconds which again can be used to cook in if needed, the big plus is the speed of erect and the fact we can just drive away and leave it without any hassle. The only other consideration is whether to get an overhead locker fitted to the rearmost bit of the roof. Im not sure we need the extra storage as on longer holidays we'll have the pop up to keep stuff in if needed, and for weekends away its not an issue.
