It's a long shot but... would the synchro system be a bolt on affair for a RWD van? Or are the shells totally different..? There's a Synchro I know of being sold for scrap and the old grey matter is churning...

People have done it but you have insurance issues as its not a factory thing etc... Is it a RHD? this could give even more hassle etc. I could go on for ages but you best do a search to find out if your serious.

From my experience:

You need to swap mountings for the engine, gearbox obviously and add protection cage appropriate to the engine you are using.

The front subframe locates using mainyl existing mounts and hence the VC etc all are attached to it. The steering rack needs remounting as the syncro mount is different. You'll need to cut a section from the donor and weld it into the 2wd van.

Insurance was never a problem with mine. I was insured by Adrian Flux for 7 yrs without any issues.

I'm sure Aidan/Russell will be able to fully detail the conversion. By all accounts its hard work but can be done if you have the time and skill.

you also have to remove the front chassis brackets and get rid of the "h".

I think I'll just look for a Synchro to start with! Got enough on my plate with the Moggy Minor etc.
