The buzzer of doom is a tricky one.
NEVER ignore it.
I dont know of any recalls, and the dash overheating sounds a bit far fetched.

If the VEGE man says all is well I'd start looking at wireing faults
Check the wires to the oil pressure sensors. They can earth out on hot engine parts.
Have a look behind the dash pannel. Water can seep in causing intermittant problems. The connector to the PCB corrodes and needs cleaning.

Can you persuade them to fit a remote reading oil pressure guage?
Even if you pay 1/2 or all the parts cost it would give you peace of mind.

What oil pressures then did they record, cold and then really hot, both above and below the 2000 rpm threshold.

I bet it never does it when cold, and when it does, its after a quick blast up a dual carriageway stretch, then after slowing down..

Don't ignore it, before the warranty runs out, do a test thoroughly yourself - Aidan (Beaker, the Wirral) has a suitable gauge I'm sure he'd send it you to borrow for the postage costs.

If it does it when cold, its unlikley to be oil pressure...
