Camping Paris Ouest is a useful site. Check out its website. You can even get fast food there most of the time if you are stuck. It is a shuttle bus away, or even better, a 15 minute walk to the RER line which takes you through the centre of Paris where nearly all the main tourist sites are. It is getting pricey there but it is so convenient. Bon route!

PS: The sign posts for the site are few and difficult to find so satnav or a good quality street map will assist. However, the locals should be able point you in the right direction.

Better still Google the other campsite near Paris, Camping Paris Est at Champigny-sur-marne. there are loads of references to it on google. This is this one that is on the RER not the other one. Got confused there, sorry.

This link takes you to a useful site for campsite reviews and information. Ive set the search to the area around Paris. There is a map link which gives the position of all sites, and you can see the scored ratings below the map.

Hi

A couple of yrs ago (before I bought a camper) we stayed near a town called Nanteuil-le-haudouin - Oise area roughtly placed at "2 0 clock" from paris - the town had a direct train to Paris - Gar du nord which was roughly a half hour trip and easy driveable to eurodisney.

Hope this helps and you have a lovely time

Avoid the St. Denis area of Paris, it was being rebuilt when we crawled through last year but looked like it could be on fire again at any moment.

You get a good feel of the sleepy spot at dover at the beginning of this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0A3FlCEvYg

We have stayed there loads, Good walk along the cliffs and a beach down a track with a pub and tunnels to explore too. Its actually a bloody good place to stay.

There is a very good site right by the River Seine at Maisons Lafette in Paris. Its only about 15 minutes by metro to the centre and its a very efficient system. Recommended

http://www.campingduboisdeboulogne.fr/ is the one nearest to the centre of Paris. I've never used so I can't vouch for it. I would try it next time I got to Paris.

OK here's the link to the English version of Maisons Laffitte in Paris. We chose this one as its right on the metro/RR line, might try the Bois one another time to get a comparison.
Was in Paris just before christmas but stayed in one of those Nova type hotels a bit like a bigger ferry cabin. We prefer the camp site.
