Non starting doka

Hello I am new to this asking question lark so I will try my best. I bought a1989 T25 crew cab at the weekend, drove it all the way home about 350 miles no problem at all stopped twice. On the following day I went to start it up it fired up then died before it had warmed, then would not fire up. I am thinking its a fuel problem as after trying to start it the plugs are not wet with fuel, how do i check if the fuel pump is working and also if some of the vacuum pipes had come loose would it still run as one pipe seems to go to nowhere is there some other checks i need to do, i think it should be a simple fix as it ran so well all the way home and i saw it start from cold, any ideas or help gratefully recieved.

what engine type? (DJ, MV, DG,)
The vac pipes need reconnecting or the mixture will be too weak.
Got Sparks?

OK well fuel pump check is easy..
take off the fuel pie attached to the carb.
point it into a container..
get some one to turn the engine over.
you should see some good squirts of fuel.. not spits... squirts

Fuel is free flowing past the fuel filter but no fuel comes out of fuel pump when being turned over so will pick up new one tommorow and try that, thanks for all your help, will let you know the outcome.

Thought the problem was fixed, over xmas my son borrowed the crewcab and it has happened again, wont start, the fuel filter was changed a new fuel pump from retro dubs and even a new push rod as it looked slightly worn, but no fuel is getting through, could it be any other possible cause there is a n idle cut of valve on the side of the carb would this stop it getting fuel through? Any help greatly appreciated.

Again easy check for the cut off valve.
Ignition on
pull apart the connector
re connect and you should hear an audible "click"

no click means it has failed

So just to be sure... you've pulled a pipe and no fuel is being pumped with the new pump

Only two things I can think of...
The pump is loose on the casing
or might be an air lock in the pipe
try a squirt of fuel into the carb just get the engine running (and the fuel into the pipe).
