I plan to go to stonehenge some year.
This year I'm going to Newgrange. It's a fantastic place - predates Stonehenge by about 1000 years. The rising sun illuminates the inside of the chamber for about 5 minutes after sunrise.
Check the link.

I'd never heard of NewGrange before but I'll going to try and make it there in the summer. Too cold to go now! Although the shaft of sunlight reaching through the chamber between the 19th and 23rd sounds like a pretty impressive light show.

I'm thinking of going to Ireland in the New year so will add that to the list. Cheers!
Solstice was good! No sunrise as such but about 2000 there. Bit of a mini rave at the normal wild spot until about 4ish - nice to see the new age travellers are still out and about!

Newgrange is fantastic.
If anyone is planning a visit to Ireland and wants a few tips, just ask. I'll try to help.
