Morning

I was wondering if there is a cover for the big vent on the side of my autosleeper or am I ok to make a cover as long as I keep the small fridge vent clear to stop the wind blowing in when driving and parked up any info would be grateful

There may well be a cover for the vent, what make is it? Google throws this page up for starters

My Dometic one suggests using the cover at anything below 10c iirc. If nothing available there's no reason why you can't make something yourself, but attaching it might be difficult. Just remember to keep the flue part uncovered when using it on gas.

I'm pretty sure that's Auto sleepers own thing. as it's a fibreglass item.
Try e-mailing Autosleeper they might have made one as it was an across the range item

I'm sure a man of your calibre could fashion a cover... and make me one too?



I have got round it by sealing the rear of the fridge off as best I could with soft foam strips, as you say it was effing draughty on the colder nights

There should not be a draught. My Autosleeper, same model as yours, suffered from this problem because the rear of the fridge was not sealed off. There was no heat shield and the hot air from the fridge flue used to vent into one of the cupboards. This is quite a common problem on a number of conversions.
I had to replace my fridge but the problem can be rectified.
I fixed 1/2" sq approx. battens to the sides and bottom of the fridge alcove where the back of the fridge comes and then stuck draught excluder to these and the rear of the fridge. When the fridge is slid into place it is sealed. I made an aluminium heat shield which has its final fixings done thru the external vent.
The Haynes Motorcaravan manual shows how as does the Electrolux manual in the Wiki section.
I agree with Kev that your vent is probaly an Autosleepers one and is stuck on. Mine was badly positioned hence the hot air in the cupboard.
I replaced mine with Electrolux ones but that entailed a bit of metal work.

I think it has always had a cover for that big vent. It's the fiberglass. They are all correct, you must send an email to Autosleeper for your inquiries.
