Does (Aiden?) anyone know if you can get or convert a std gearbox with ltd slip diff kit? thinking of making life a little easier when getting off wet grass (don't some smart alec mention getting a syncro!)

factory ZF lsd still available for the price of a cheap car, can have you one here for next week if required
alternative is the american peloquin diff which has been made especially for the Vanagon market and which is also available in a fully locking version as used by a lot of the yank syncro owners who didn't get locking front diffs cos they couldn't be trusted not to pull the knob on the freeway or somesuch reason
or as stated above you can convert a 2wd to locking diff if you have a scrap uk syncrobox for the parts - I have no spare locking diffs however they are all now spoken for, and well sought after by various groups for upgrading their boxes (buggys, dragsters, trialer etc) so those that come up for sale tend to get snapped up pdq.
If you want one buy the AAN gearbox that's (or was - on ebay) for sale in Doncaster - Kombi shop and we can do a deal on the rebuild

I swapped my limited slip diff for a standard one after it started groaning badly on every bend. It drives just the same, can't tell the difference on the road but I guess it tends to spin the wheels on the slippy stuff a bit more (muddy fields and snow)
