Club 80-90 Forums

Im looking for recommendations of campsites within a 20 mile radius of Eden Project.

Would like recommendations on sites NEAR THE SEA that allow fires, and sites that have hook-up. I know both of these together will be as rare as rocking horse "pooh"!, but either will do. Also I am not interested in campsites with clubhouse/entertainment – just somewhere fairly quiet.

We've used it a couple of times for over nights at the Eden Sessions. Easy 15 minute walk up to the Eden Project. Nice clean & tidy site run by an elderly couple, very friendly but I'm not sure about fires. Threre's hook up and decent amenities blocks. Not a lot in St Blazey Gate itself (it got hit by the floods last week too) but a couple of decent pubs, a fish & chip shop and a bakery for pastys. Not too bad walk down to the sea, but it's quite a long uphill trek back again.

We stayed at Par Sands Holiday Site - not too bad a place.
Don't forget to claim your walkers discount at the Eden Project.

You could always use Blue Hills at St Agnes (as per the Bashtie). Gary & Lou are brilliant and have no objections to fires. Not sure exactly how far from Eden but certainly driveable for a visit (probably about 10-15 miles if that). Site is on a cliff top overlooking the Atlantic (fabulous sunsets but can be windy) and is a short (but fairly vertical!) walk to St Agnes (amazing fish & chip shop) - good pubs (mmm - doombar!) and great beach.

Blues Hills to Eden ... about an hour ... , bit of a standing joke with the 80-90 bashtiers .. everything is an hour away in Cornwall .. remember to book/get your tickets before ,then you shouldn't have to stand in the cue

Also if your going soon check to see what damage was done by the floods , could be that some of the attractions are off limits

Planning on going in April. I see on the EP site they re-open today.

If you are stuck for somewhere for a night, you can park in the car park at St. Mawes (there's only one). Toilets, water, but no hook-up. I think that it cost £4.00 the last time I was there (2009).
