harry, the cavity wax? i need to fill the seams, was thinking some sort of sandable panel glue, similar to silicon/seam sealer, do you mean pump some of that in before the seam sealer?

Sandblast out the seams, lay a bead of 3-M 8115 body panel adhesive in them.
The stuff is the toughest, most bullet proof solution to this problem, displaces water, and will be there when you will the Van to your grandkids---
THIS is the best solution to your problem.

There's a fella in Brackley uses this and no welding.

never had a failure in 18 years

No, Dinitrol do lots of different products, not just cavity wax and underseal. Here's the seam sealer (Dinitrol 410 uv):

Dinitrol do a brushable seam sealer as well, called brushseal. I used it on my T25 arch repairs. Sticks very well...rustoleum took two weeks to harden on top of it, but maybe I didn't let the seam sealer dry for long enough. For seams I'd use something that comes in a tube though. The brushable stuff is seriously messy.
