Asda Wallmart have the 700w oil filled radiators in stock and are priced at £17 great when you have hook up this time of year

I had a 500 watt oil filled radiator but it was very feeble. A fan heater with safety cut out switch is much better. The switch will cut off the fan if it gets knocked over. In fact my fan cuts out if it moves as little as 1/4 inch from the vertical.

Oil filled radiators are great for background heat and leaving on over night.....fan heaters are just too noisey and make the cab stuffy......we have both, use the fan for quick warming but the oil filled radiator for most other times.

OK......a bit more info on my own experiences of oil filled radiators.
Pro's:
Safe/silent/great for leaving on all the time/take the chill off and keep a reasonable temperature depending on power/don't make the air stuffy.
Con's:
Quite bulky/heat isn't instant, take 5mins to warm up

What we found out at Llangollen last New Year, In terms of power...anything less than 1KW isn't going to give sufficient heat to warm the van on it's own. Our 1KW unit was just enough on full power during the day....half power at night was ideal to keep the chill off and make sleeping comfortable (was -2 to -4 most nights)
So I whole heartedly recommend them but 1KW /1.5KW not the smaller 500Watt/700watt units.
2KW would be too big and give out too much heat...in my opinion.

I have found the same as Martin.
we have a 750 watt oil rad to leave on all day and night. Not too bad in temps above freezing.

lower than that you need Kilo watts of power.

My propex chucks out 1.6 Kw and it's just enough in temps down to -4

Got a 650w from dunelm mills for £17.99....does the job not to bulky,but i know what others have said that it's not quite enough power..i don't like it being to warm anyway and the fans are noisy and make the camper stuffy... if it's that cold then i'm sleeping in my bed ....

the second amazon one looks similar to our one, table leg or no you'd be struggling to get behind the seat there quit tall! Need to look at what power ours is around 1.5 to 2kw range and loverly and warm!

us shortarses have the seat forward enough to slot a rad like that in James... so ner

Only £30 too...

Thats a blinding deal and offering so many variable settings so bound to be able to get it just right whatever the weather is doing.
My only concern is it's size, because of it's 2500watt rating it's obviously a little bigger than you really need but a cracking deal all the same.

they do look a brill offer, the only thing I see with it tho a 500 watt fan heater is very low, obviously designed to use to top up heat. The hard of thinking tho will still try and boil a 2000w kettle at the same time tho!
