Dilemma over seatbelts - lose the cooker?

Thanks for everybody's advice, it turns out that the end of the road isn't quite here for my van. There's one more thing it turns out that my van is a home made conversion. I need to put in lap belts for the toddlers car seat(which can be used with lapbelts) but the anchor points are hidden behind a large water tank. The furniture isn't great any way so I was thinking of ditching the cooker and sink thereby losing the water tank. Keeping the fridge and putting in a microwave instead. What does everybody think about this? Would it make the van difficult to sell in the future

I can't visualise what you've described
do you want to put lap belts on the rear bench?
But I think removing a sink and especially the stove would be bad.

Yes that right I need two lap belts anchored to the van - the rear bench is a home made wooden frame and a large water tank runs across the van(just behind the bench) with the anchor points behind it.

Thanks for the idea. Van is really very rusty underneath so my thinking is not to spend much on it just make it safe to drive and watertight. Probably fit the lap belts, take your advice and sell the tank and just take large bottles of water when we go away.
