Courtesy light upgrade

I bought some of these from ebay via hong kong and thought they would be rubbish for the money but worth a go. They are miles brighter than the led one I have for another light (kind of in the glass tube of the bulb). They took a week or so to get here but they really are quite impressive and you can leave them on all night without worrying if they are running the battery down.

Just thought I would share the love

Now edited due to bad spolling

You can read a book sat under one, no problems.

I bought the 6, 8 and 10 LED versions earlier this year to 'experiment'. They are slightly different lengths but the internal light contacts have some give in them so I have the 8 and 10 LED versions fitted. I love 'em; especially good if you get up in the night and want to see what you're doing without blinding yourself or other people who may be trying to sleep. A nice amount of light to sit back and chill to at the end of an evening too.

I bought something similar from a guy on here.
It's a small PCB with 9 SMD LEDs, brilliant and it was only about a fiver.

I did that too but via the yard. I had to solder it to the bulb tabs though.

have you done anything special with the other lights inside Jed ? got a couple of strip lights over the cooker etc ... but fancy some LED stuff , also a few more just to light up the rear ( maybe one comes on when sliding door is open )

Think I'll get some! The added benefit is that they run "cold" so your ageing interior light lenses will last a lot longer If you've got new lenses then they may outlast the rest of the van...

Matt,

brickwerks do these:

http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... gory_id=51

which will fit the LED things. Wiring up to the other side isn't that hard - there's a blanking plate where this will go behind the headlining probably, then you can use something to help pull the wires down the post - there's another one in the back for the sliding door too.

Is that what you were after, or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

So....what length are the original festoons?
The bulbs Jed got were 42mm is that the right length for the interior lights? I know the contacts can be asjusted to a certain extent.

What about these? cheaper and brighter?
