what clutch?

right then,
got the engine out of the syncro - its been a real toil to get out, but finaly managed. still in the garage at the mo, covered in crud, car only fits half way in the garage, rain etc...
we cant figure out what clutch we need to order.
its a 1991 doka, volvo engine conversion, 4 speed. its petrol, but dont know if its all ways been petrol. ( not original no.plate so thats no help...)
we are doing a b230a volvo like for like swap, the numbers on the old clutch dont seem to correspond with anything suppliers have got on their system.
the numbers are;
thrust bearing no. 3151193041
clutch plate; 1861581437
cover; 8082086434 theres also a stamped number; typm228
it sez made in germany on it, so we assume its vw, it must be!
cant figure out what to do.
any clues?

ive just had our trade centre asking me about your clutch, i think it wil be hybrid,as those numbers dont mean
anything to me. try tristar connection as he has seen a lot of these, and might be able to assist.
depends on what was used in the conversion
sorry cant help any more

Joe, have a word with Neil - if you haven't already - as he's doing a lot of research for his B230 swap (as you know) and has a Scandowegian contact for the conversion parts, not sure who it is but I have a feeling I'll be getting involved anyway

all we got is those numbers, it is a lucas part but it apparently means nowt.
eltee, we had friend who said he would have a call around as he knew someone who might know - so that was you was it?! thanks for trying pal
yup, neils getting a call later (again!) and SMT will get a mail too, problem is the vans blocking the next door mechanics garage and hes back on monday so we really at the point of no return! theres no way the old clutch is going back in, its not in bad nic, but i cant bring myself to do it, would be unwise.
now, ive found in the Swedish service history a long list of parts, im guessing its the volvo conversion, looks like it was converted as soon as it was built. my Swedish is a bit on the rusty side tho! babel fish here i come.
heres a pic of connection plate (and others), for axemans eddification really.

should be a standard dj clutch but it would depend upon who made the fly wheel, that what the stm kit uses as the volvo one will not fit as it is way too big,

Thrust bearing is Sachs, is same as ours, as is the friction disc, cover plate is also T25 wbx, found it on a polish site, these are Sachs numbers, Lucas obviously just reboxed Sachs products, Lucas Germany doesn't exist anymore

aye, 6 bolts.
theres only one kind of dj clutch? will i find that code no problem? anyone have it to hand?
there is one other number ive got hold of from the swedish conversion reciepts;
11-053 010, thats if 'Kopplingsstats' is swedish for clutch! ( im guessing converteringsstats is the conversion plate.)

"Kopplingssats" is swedish for clutch kit. Konverteringssats is (as you've guessed) is conversion kit.
Let me know if you need any help with translation

228mm
very very early df/dg and dh were 215mm but only to start with, and the 215mm flywheel hasn't been available for years and years, you'd be unlucky to come across one, even the 2 litre Aircooled was 228mm

I'd guess that means it's a 228mm?
