New T25 owner - a question (more to follow im sure!!)

Although I ve owned loads of old vehicles and classics, ive finaly realised a hankering and bought my first campervan! and joined the 80-90club!
I have a strange problem - my van is a 1987 leisuredrive 1600 diesel.
It had a complete new engine from The Engine Shop in 07, and this was fitted with new everything - ancilliaries, fuel pump hoses etc for a grand supply and fit toal of £2.5k!! it has covered only 12k since.
it as a small oil leak when warm - there are 2 drips from the cambelt end of the engine, one appears to come from a pickup? pipe coming off the bottom of the sump, the engine has a cast alloy sump not the tin one in the manual. the other appears to be a leaking cam cover gasket dribbling down the side (creating that hot oil smell on the exhaust manifold on the way. are these common?
Also the manual shows a single fan belt in a triangle arrangement comprising waterpump, crank puley and alternator. Mine has 2 belts, one from the crank to the waterpump which has a double pulley, and then one from the waterpump to the alternator, almost above it. I can adjust the alternator one ok, but the bottom belt is slack but I dont know how to tighten it - i got some blank responses on Volkszone forums!
Thanks in advance - ill be back to wire up a lesure batery / zig unit, fit a night heater and let you know how I get on designing a fold away cot to go above the cab in the pop top for the youngest member of the family!
