Well it would help if you told us what engine you were thinking about putting in as adaptor plates aren't universal!

sorry

i was looking at billy739 conversion and liked the look of that one, but it all depends upon which car/engine i can get hold of.

i was thinking more along the line of a diesel conversion rather that petrol mainly as i want to use the van daily for work & play.

so any input would be greatlly apperciated

sorry again......

thats a big conversion - I guess you realise you'll need to add a water system (radiator etc.)

yes ive had a good look at this, and to be honist i cannt see to much problem fitting a radiator to the van, plenty of space infront of the bulkhead and for the water hose front to rear ill use 1.5 inch poly alkathine pipe as i used on my last 1900cc t25, worked a treat.

its just fitting an engine and the best one to go for?

personal choice and budget for which engine.

VW 1.9td (AAZ)
Pug 19TD
Subaru - various
VW petrol ones from golf etc.

TDI for efficiency, GTI for cheapness, Subaru for gorgeousness :D

None of which need an adaptor plate.

so back to my first question- can anyone help locate an adaptor plate for a diesel engine i think ill stay with my first throught and look at an engine from a pug 1900cc td

VW make so many good diesels to put a Pug in would seem somewhat disingenuous..... especially as it means you have to have to use some adaptor plate rubbish, not to mention all of the other peripheral crud, too.

SV, it just makes the right noise and goes in the right way too.

You need a diesel set up from a van and then either an AAZ 1.9TD or a 1.9 TDI and lots of wires out of a Golf, Bora, Passat, Toledo, Octavia etc etc etc.

Be aware of block differences in late TDIs, especially the PDs. These will inhibit the ability to fit the engbine on the std T25 mounts.
