Hi there, just bought some Merc wheels via ebay 8inch wide x18's ET44 - wondering if anyone's fitted these before and what spacers they are running? Guessing around 10mm up front - wide Tyre's on the back though, so not sure what will be needed there!
My first Post so a big hello to you all! Anyone around the Boston, Lincs area?

My rims are 16x7.5j ET42 and I have 10mm on the front and 5mm on the rear. The sliding door just misses the wheel when it is opened
Have you seen this?

"You can't really go much more than 7.5" at the front without touching the suspension or having wheel arch clearance issues. Sometimes if you are adamant you need to fit a certain wheel the only way to do it would be to disregard what the ET is and use sufficient spacers to keep the wheel from touching the suspension, this is not ideal and not recommenced."

for a 18
8j wide is perfect. wider becomes a problem 8.5 with the right offset is reasonable but 8x18 is better.
you will need a 10mm spacer for these wheels on the front.
tyres wise i would use a 235 40 18. or a 225 45 18 both can be found in higher load ratings more suited to a van
i have in the past run 8.5x18 et 20 all round
this was before everyone and his mate had copy RS4 wheels (these were genuine)
et 20 is too low.. they fitted but et 30 would have been better.
ive just fitted 8x18 et 34 front wheels to my crewcab they fit perfect.. with no clearance problems.
so a 10 mm spacer should be fine with yours
the only problem you could have is if the inside edge of the rim mine have a taper/angel to the rim edge.
if yous are quite square you may need to go up to 12/14mm spacers.
whatever way these are not to hard to fit.
are your rear wheels wider?? this is quite comon on mercs

Thanks for the advice, been a reader on this forum for a while now, lots of information out there! Wheels 8J all round but think the tyres are 265/35 on the back. It's to cold to go out to the garage and check at moment! I'm sure I've seen these wheels on a camper before so just thought I would see if anyone out there is running them.
Will post some pic's when the wheels are on. Then just need to decide how low to go!
