Newbie to the T25.....Haynes Manual or forum!!??

Hi all
I have just bought a 1982 T25 Pop top 2.0 Aircooled........it was 90% complete and running tho rough due to needing rotten exhaust/h/exchangers sorting.
I knew I took on something that needed a few more quid spending but thought I had it reasonably cheap.
Apparently it was stored for 17 years when the sellers got it....they spent tons sorting it and getting it running and thru an MOT but didn't have the funds or interest to finish.
There are a few bits of tinware missing and other various air pipes etc......Iv'e spent a bit of time scouring info on the forums and under the van getting to know it!
Rather than annoy peeps here with lots of q's.... it's obvious a Haynes manual is needed in the first instance.
Question is, How well does the Haynes cover the van and is there any other 'book' which is recomended?
thanks for any help!

Cheers,
Yeah, the chassis is solid but it does have the usual rust in all the right places but aint too bad.
Bloody thing just won't start now so I need to get myself a Haynes and thinking cap! hopefully not a prayer mat!
I'm half handy with some mechanical stuff and have done a few meaty jobs on my cars over the years but just don't know this old bus with it's 'strange engine' LOl!
I'm about to remove the original mechanical fuel pump to have a look.............the new electric pump with 'Sytec' pressure regulator is pants and leaks petrol!
They said the original was 'overfueling' which doesn't make sense.
The original has two 'nossles' on the top one coming in from tank and one going up to the carbs........BUT what's the small one on the bottom with a cut off piece of tube left on and where does it go??
The questions could go on
Haynes manual being ordered today!!
thanks
martin

We normally recommend the Bentley as the real bible, but its £50 ~ £60
have you had a read around on aircooleds in the 80-90 Wikipedia?
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ma ... rcooled.29
There's also stuff in the Tech Archive (tech threads over 2 years old go there), but you need to search that for a particular subject
http://archive.club8090.co.uk/index.php
Electrical pumps are not uncommon, as the mechanicals wear out (cams/followers?) and are hard to source I believe, but there's topics on that in Wiki and here. Use the search facility, specifying which forum (Tech) and Aircooled or Cu or CV or 2.0 to specify your engine, see what comes up
Here ya go, this from the Archive...
Search found 32 matches: +fuel +pump +Aircooled

Being very new and just getting my head round four wheels, one of my first purchases earlier this week was a Haynes manual more because of habit rather than anything else. Haynes I found useful sometimes for visual images and basic processes but hopefully Wiki & forum will be where the real info comes from.
