Westfalia RCD tripping on Hookup

Hi All,

Before I start looking into wiring diagrams, does anyone have any pointers on starting places to look for something that is tripping the RCD (or that is what I would call it anyway - trip switch near the small cupboard) whenever 240v is connected?

The only thing I assume is drawing a current is the charging box, and it still trips with this disconnected. Where to look first..?

Cheers!

Unplug the fridge two pin socket type thing and see if its that.

If it's the original RCD it seems to be quite common that they fail. I spent ages disconnecting things to try and find out was was causing it to trip and it turned out that the RCD needed replacing. Easiest way to test is to disconnect the wires on the load side of the RCD if it still trips it's the RCD at fault.

Good plan, cheers chaps, tried fridge first, nope. So took load side off as suggested, still trips, voila!

Now - where to get a replacement - anything in the local electrical wholesalers that will fit?

I bought mine the wholesalers it was smaller in size than the original. Buy a blanking piece for a consumer unit which you can trim with a Stanley knife to infill.
