Wheel Bearings

If I slightly rock the wheel and there is play, dies this mean the bearings are shot and is this an mot fail ?

Jack it up and see what direction the play is in. If its just up and down, it could be the ball joints. If its play in every direction, its probably the bearing.

which wheel as some play is acceptable

Didn't look in wiki as using iPod touch. Play in both back wheels with side to side play.

OK well it's bad news.. your bearings or hub carrier or both, are on the way out..

It would seem not bad enough to fail and the new buyer collects today so happy days; i will show them the advisory though.
