Front Gearbox mount bolts

Hello,

I've just replace my front gearbox mount as the van was shuddering a lot in 1st and reverse. It's helped, but I appear (like an idiot) to have overtightened two of the 4 bolts holding it onto the crossmember. They turn but reasonably tight still - the other two are good. I'd be grateful for anyone's advice on whether I should rectify this as a matter of urgency or whether it should be ok for the time being.

Many thanks as always

Ewen

re shudder..
shudder in first and reverse is a good indication that either the gearbox input shaft oil seal or the flywheel crank seal has gone.
you may well see some oil seeping from the bell housing at the bottom

Hi - thanks for the reply. Definitely not the input shaft oil seal - it is a tiny bit oily there, but not very much, and it's definitely engine oil - I would have smelt the gearbox oil I'm sure.... will check again. Do you reckon the bolts will hold ok for the moment though?

common easiest way is to weld the bracket to the chassis. not graet but does the job.

there are 4 bolts for a reason!
