Just wondered if I wanted to fit a flush table mount in the floor does it go through the "false" floor or do I need to cut right through the main metal floor? Any distances from door etc as to best place if I can avoid cutting the metal floor?

All the ones i've seen go throught the the floor of the van.

If you want an Alu Table Mount I've got one cheap here.
I bought it and then realised you have to drill a dirty great hole in the floor so scrapped the idea.

that's crap. I was considering one but now I know that........

why crap?

use a standard 3" hole saw and once through and fitted.. underseal it.
if you don't need the table any more, simply remove the table mount and put the plug you drilled out, back in.....

Well I suppose its one less bit of metal to worry about rusting

Really, the only reason for the floor recess is to stop people kicking the table leg out but providing you're careful, its not absolutely essential. Depends what kind of table you have and how you design it.

Just don't make the hole for the table using the same method as Leisuredrive used.
One of their workers must have been very drunk the day he cut out the hole on mine.

I havent got a table yet, just the fittings - bottom, top and island leg. The bottom is the recess kind and the top is the inverted dish type thingy. I wasnt sure if the internal floor was laid straight onto the metal floor, so I guess I'll need to check underneath for anything that might be in the way of me holecutter

I filled in the floor mounting hole and now use a Fiamma tripod mount. We can position the table where it suits us and can use the table outside as well.
Works for us.

I found that if I did a slight mod and fitted it between the recess of the floor I didn't have to cut the floor.
not sure what make i have but just cut the shaft part of the flush mount. job done.
i do have a multivan with thick underlay tho

Never thought of that - now I could sacrifice a mike stand and make one.....
