Where did you get the thermostat from ? Just cos it's 'new' don't mean it's any good remember.

Seeing as I'm not psychic I'll assume this is a 1.9 petrol we're on about ? Get your parts from Simon at Brickwerks ... http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... ory_id=118

There ya go, that's what I would buy and fit. a geuine cap, sensor, radiator fan switch and thermostat. Note you are on/around the swap over to late cooling system so a photo would help of your engine bay to tell definately which one you have.

Plastic thermostat housing = late system :ok

Yes sensor sticks out of there, you may also prefer to change the retaining clip ... http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... ory_id=118

The other parts I listed are those which control the cooling system and are those which are the most common things to fail, if you fit known good ones then you're off to a flying start. Just my opinion of course :|
