Looking to replace at least 2 cv joints, maybe all 4.
Found GSK ones on ebay for £38 plus £5 post,
but then spotted these others for £29 plus £6.50 post

so can probably get 4 for about £120 delivered

Am I penny pinching towards crap quality?

well the ebay ad says Manufacturer:Volkswagen so go for it.or make doubly sure by asking the seller to confirm they are genuine vw..

They all have VW as manufacturer, even gsk ones.
Anyway, phoned the guy up, orderd a pair, £69 inc post, will give them a try.
Noted replacement bolts are hex head, not star heads as per some replacements, so at least i dont need to buy special tool
Will see how long they last........

VW never made CV joints. The OEM supplier is this crowd:

Replacements from this brand cost ~80 euro per joint

When I do set about removing the drive shaft, is it best with wheel off the ground? Can it be done without rotaing wheel to remove top outer joint bolts?
Reason I ask is I have no where to work, so just on the road outside house and would prefer not to jack the van up ( I can just about sqeeze me gut underneath to get to them without lifting van on jack )

He does guarantee them (respect) but I honestly don't think they can cope with what they have to do on a T25 and for that reason I cannot recommend them. 12 months on they're like they've done 50,000 miles. They'll get you out of trouble but you'll be back there once more in not time. Not sure why, maybe metal not hard enough cos I sure had enough grease in them but they soon grew worse than those I'd taken off.

Ah well, never mind, might get a couple of thou miles out of em, cant clank any worse than the ones thats on, tried re greasing, but no avail, so will change both on one side, even though only one might be knackered.

Get a pot of the right grease from Halfords (£6) and pack em well. Be interested to see how soon you start noticing the play they get. Two months should be enough. Report back then we can mark these ones down as nonos. My guess is they'd be fine on a lighter vehicle but theres a LOT of torque going on each time you pull off and its this that kills them I expect. Seller nice fella and very helpful, can't fault him on that.

Now in typical T25 fashion, another 2 jobs to be done!
This is like feeding strawberries to an elephant, dont get chance to put tools away before they're needed again, wine funds depleted to lambrini level

Hi guys, is there any further update on these CVJs? I find myself in need of buying some and have found the same ones are still for sale from this fella. I'm hoping that the fact that he's still in business is down to the quality of his stock. Any feedback would be much appreciated please.

Only done about 3k miles, one inner one outer, both okay so far, no noise at all, still early days (miles) but no complaints so far:ok
