after the van got me home it decided to have a bit of a moan about how i treated it the weekend and spat most of its gear oil over the garage floor.

the rear driveshaft output flange on the gear box has come loose. the seal and flange are u/s so i need to get new ones of these " suggestions welcome ". the circlip has come loose and allowed this to happen. i`d like to know why this happened, how i can stop it happening again and why there`s no bolt securing the flange as there is the provision for this.

have i been missing the bolt for the time i`ve had it.

thanks in advance lee

no bolt, circlip probably reused instead of replace everytime and there's a knack to fitting them but not difficult, everything in stock here, circlips like 40p each new genuine spring washers used 50p, new a lot more, caps same price
used flanges £15 new about £70

For 108mm diameter: are Audi 80/100 transaxle flanges the same or similar (i.e. modify if it's in your favour)
Just a thought as the CVs at the rear are the sameas Audi up to A6 ~2005 and fit my SA 2.6 too
