Looks like an early water system Ade there is normaly a steel bend there...

It's normally a U shaped rubber hose , which in your case has split and someone has repaired using a few copper fittings , I'd put a shout out for a replacement pipe in the wanted section , Billynumbers or Mercdoctor might have one Have a look on brickwerks in case Simons doing silicone ones
If its holding pressure and water then its nothing life threatening , could have been there for years

ive known the bus for 2 years and owned it for 6 months its been there at least that long and no signs of leakin but ill still look into gettin it changed

if/when you change it , be very careful when undoing the clip on the small flange , if you break that then it could be can of worms time
IIRC the early flange is metal , and is subject to rusting through , later ones are plastic and subject to snapping , then your into unbolting from the heads territory , not nice

I have used copper on stuff for ages, a good amount of my scooby pipe work is copper!
