Repairing lower section of sliding door

Has anyone tried repairing the bottom part (the ridge line down) of their sliding door using the repair panels you can get (inner and both outer)? Would be interested to know if this is a straight fwd task, and if there are any tricks to doing so?
Thanks Greg

Many thanks for that link. I'm looking forward to seeing the van back in all its glory!

One other 'rust-related' question; the bottom few inches of my n/s '(B post) door pillar is slightly swollen, i.e. I guess water thrown around the inside of the wheel arch has caused some corrosion from the inside causing it to split outwards. Is this anything to cause great concern...from a structure point of view? Obviously I don't want it to get any worse.

If you read through that thread of mine you will somewhere come across the pillar in question, if you have a camera that you can poke into the vent hole or whatever you can look down and see it, that said its not conclusive,
Swelling usually means rot etc and hence a can of worms, maybe fix the door and get 28 different opinions

Thanks Mike, yes I found that section.

You deserve a medal for bringing that van back from the dead. How many hours did you clock up restoring it?

I guess the rigidity of the chassis itself stopped the shell from twisting and upsetting any wheel alignment, etc.
