Eber install / factory rear heater Qs!!

Had a new eber fitted in my T4 over the winter. When i sold the T4 i kept it for my stinko.
Will be getting it sorted in next few weeks.BUT , have a few Qs..................
(1) Factory heater is in way (by the time i have eber/speakers/junk in way) and the matrix/vlave is leaking anyway. The bowden cable is missing anyway so you cant control valve from cab anyway!! What is the ID of the factory hose ? Just going to disconnect/shorten hoses and then re-connnect with a straight/barbed plastic joiner.
(2) going to install eber with digital timer in rear (in reach of bed!) but want to be able to control it from front. Heres the good bit (see above) i have a rear heater so wiring is in place from cab to heater area. If i take out rear heater rotary control , cut a nice piece of perspex (so i can use factory bulb behind still) and install a simple on/off switch i can the use this wiriing as it runs to the heater and use it to power the overide/extra control for the eber so i can flick it on from the cab. yes/no ?
Is there a resistor for the rear heater ? if so where is it fitted or can i use it in situ and just wire on/off switch through position 3 of the rear heter rheostat so its seeing 'full power' ?
Is it actually possible to install an extra switch this way ? is so how do i wire it ? just straight into live feed/switch side of eber ? Although im confident doing 'factory' side of wiring as its just a straight 'swap it over/put it in' im not 100% on installing an extra overide/ on+off switch.
ideas?
