Is there a small round metal 'hole' in the dashboard that doesn't look like anything useful will fit in it?
If so, you need
one of these...

Wire in a new fused socket from your leisure battery, that way you know it's been done properly

I fitted one so it comes out the side of the plastic cowling for the speedo on the door side. My thinking was being plastic it was easy to drill with a hole saw, and if I changed my mind getting a new plastic cowl would be relatively cheap. Just make sure the internals of the socket don't foul on the back of the clocks, and your sat nav charger doesn't hit the quarter-light with the door shut.

I did the same, but with an in-line socket on a short length of cable, emerging from the back of the cowling. Careful though - when I took it in for an MOT the tested warned me that any fixed objects in this area can be a fail as they obstruct your view of the screen! I just lifted the cowling and tucked it in underneath...

I've got one there already. But then you have the cable for the satnav trailing up and across the dash.

Good point. I like to keep mine close to the instruments because I tend to use it as a speedo - the one in the dash is in km.

I put two in the dash.
I've got a single (and I believe genuine one) in my junkbox.

They are ridiculously cheap, hope the build quality doesn't match the price.
