Looking for a thermal screen for my Super Viking canvas. I see proud to pop have just started making them but waiting to get a price. They make both interior & exxterior one. Anyone have any recommendations? I also keep seeing the name "Pucer screens" pop up but cant find a website or contact details anywhere. Anybody have any info? Costs contact details etc.
Otherwise I'm thinking of making my own using the same thermal material with obviously the help of my good lady on the sewing machine! But again not sure whether to make an interior or exterior one, Dont know which is more efficient & produces least amount of condensation.

Any advise on any of the above would be appreciated

pretty sure pucer doesn't do them for the viking

We made our own from thermawrap, does the job well

We have got an external one for our Westy pop top. Seems to work very well although it hasn't been used in very cold weather yet. No probs at all with condensation so far. Got ours off ebay - advertised as good as new and it is. Cost £75 which is about half of new price. Well impressed if you make your own!

If I knew how to put a picture up on here I would do.

Probably one of the best purchases I've made to be honest. Mines for a westy pop top so not sure where you can get one for the viking pop - have you had a look on Brickwerks?

I also made my own, I bought a hige roll of the double sided silver bubble wrap from ebay for around £40, and made the pop top, windows and insulated the van, and have enough spare to do it all agan if I need to

Purcer screens lives not far from me and his sreens are not cheap but excellent quality, a few of my friends have them. Will get his number and post up later.

Pucer screens does make them for a Viking but they are very pricey £300. They justified their cost by saying that a Viking uses massive amounts of material compared to Westy roofs etc. The fabric is the same material thery use for insulating saunas so is waterproof rotproof etc. They are made to measure & cover the whole of the roof canvas so will be toasty. I just have the slight problem of finding £300!!

I had the same problem a couple of months ago, I rang proud to pop and enquired about cost of new viking canvas roof and external thermo cover.

I tried twice and they never rang back, they do make to order so looking at a couple of months wait at least.

I think im guna go down the old diy jobby myself, i mite purchase one of the inner tents they do for the viking.

I finally spoke to someone at proud to pop. They will make the Viking to order for around £240, they were going to email me to confirm the price but never did. They said the same as everybody else that external ones have less condensation. The problem with the inner tents they make are solely for the viking double bed. So that still leaves the problem of not actually insulating the whole of the roof canvas

I too then thought about making an external cover. The chepeast thermal fabric I could find was £14/m x1.6m roll. But they told me it is only suitable for inside the van only.

Pucer screens use Sauna insulating fabric which I cant seem to find anywhere

Think I might have a go at making some myself for my reimo poptop. How do they work? Is it just one big piece that goes allround? How do you secure it?

It seems that most are attached with bungess. The issue I've got is what material is best to make it out of. I was contemplating making it out of the aluminium thermal foil. I just dont know if this will be strong enough? Then stitching it together with a waxed thread (This is used for sailmaking).
Anybody got any other suggestions for the best choice of material? & more importantly where to buy it?

I was just thinking the silver thermo stuff from b&q. They had some value stuff on offer the other week and was a metre wide.... It's waterproof and if finished around the edges might last a while. A hell of a lot cheaper even if it didn't last forever.

Has anyone any pictures of theirs and how it attaches?

Still having trouble seeing exactly how the actual insulation is held in place at the top ie where it attaches to the actual pop top roof. You say it's bungeed on. Does that mean you've had to add mounting points for the bungees to attach too? As there is nothing on the inside of the fibreglass pop top to attach them too. Any further info would be greatly appreciated. I've found an ebay seller that sells the thermal insulation up to a 2m wide roll which means less sewing
