Oil leaking from base of oil filler tube

I've done a search on posts and looked in the Wiki for an answer, but couldn't find one so i'll post the question here.

1981 Autosleeper, originally a 1.6 diesel, had a 1Y conversion done last year with a 1.9 from a '98 Seat Ibiza with low mileage. Sump, etc., from original engine used in the conversion.

I have a small oil leak at the bottom of the oil filler tube. You can see the tube in this photo: -

A long plastic filler pip mates with an aluminium elbow joint, which in turn mates with the sump. The leak seems to be coming from the bottom of the elbow joint where it mates with the sump, so my guess is that there is a gasket between the two which is failing, and which i need to replace. However, i do not know which gasket i need to buy - can anyone advise me, and perhaps tell me where i might get hold of one?

As an aside, what appears to be a crack at the bottom left hand side of the plastic part of the filler pipe, isn't.

Also, there is a small 'weep' of oil from the drain plug, which can be seen to the left of the filler pipe in this photo: -

I believe this should have a copper washer fitted to seal it - can anyone advise where i might get hold of one?

Many thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

make a new gasket from cornflake packet (or even buy a new one) as for washer any decent motor factor will have new copper washers

Thanks James. I have already enquired at GSF and Euro Car parts, both of whom looked at me blankly when i told them the filler tube / sump i needed the gasket for was from an '81 T25, hence me posting the question here.

From your reply i guess that the copper washer isn't particular to this model, but one which fits, will do the job.

The seal between the filler pipe and the sump on your diesel is most likely a rubber o ring rather than a paper or card gasket. If so the exact same part number is used on new beetles, boras and golfs for turbo intake seal so just go into any VW parts centre and ask for part N900 905 01. If they ask, say it is for a new beetle 1.8litre. Don't tell them it is for a transporter or they might tell you you need to find a van centre. Should just cost a couple of quid.

I managed to reuse mine when I changed the sump a few months back but if it is in bad condition you are best getting a new one.

same o ring is between the bend and the top pipe
sump plug is m16, iirc it has a needle end and no washer, but maybe early ones had a washer

Many thanks Aidan, a pint of Welsh scrump for you also!!

Mine is the needle-ended drain plug, so no washer required. I just wondered if perhaps there should be one as there is a small "weep" of oil from it.
