Just wondering what miles per gallon people are achieving on different engines and conversions?
I run a 2.1td pug engine and filled up a few days before vanfest then again on the way home it worked out at 33 point something miles to the gallon. That was a couple of days around the town and mostly sat at 75-80 on the sat nav. I personally feel this is quite good but i have nothing to compare it to so just wondering what everyone else are getting on different petrol and diesel engines?

Just done a 600 mile trip out of £100, I think this makes it around £32 to £33. Just spent hours sorting out the carb fitting an electrical cut out for the auto choke, giving it a thourough service etc etc. Running a lowered 1.9DG on a tin roof.

2ltr Aircooled hi-top with far too many toys on board:-
20mpg on a long 60mph run.
16mpg if hustled.
Oh, and the wrong distributor, a 009.

15 - 20 mpg fully loaded 2ltr Aircooled hightop. Gas conversion makes it £ equivalent of about 30 - 35.

Well either my maths are wrong or I will have to check the bodywork to see if it made of carbon fibre, thought it was too good to be true. Will get back to you on this one

Last trip we got 21.9mpg over 2400 miles. This was cruising at around 70ish with a trailer 4 bikes, camping gear and 4 people, plus a heavy syncro hightop.
This is the worst fuel consumption i have got, mainly due to very heavy winds, and we were getting 540km to a full tank.
The trip before that we achieved 24.5mpg over 2500 miles, but that was with favorable winds and no trailer.

34.2 the last time i worked it out on a tankful of diesel in a 1.9 1Y. That was a mix of motorway driving (between 55 and 60) and A-roads and dodgy country lanes in Norfolk.
